Connective Development is a consulting and advisory firm dedicated to strategy execution services for mission-driven and public sector organizations.

It's not enough to have a strategy; the hard part is implementing a strategy.  Harvard Business Review estimates that between 60% and 90% of strategy plans never fully launch. Other sources estimate that nearly 50% of organizations fail to meet at least half their strategic targets. With 15 years of experience in strategy management consulting, our founder John Cornwell recognized this gap and founded the firm in 2021 to address clients’ needs to execute their strategies so they don’t just live in slide decks.

We work with clients to articulate, plan, operationalize, execute, and institutionalize their strategy. We work to develop leaders and teams to deliver on strategies, ensuring the organization’s purpose, mission, and growth success.

We are advisors, consultants, and interim executives. All of our team members are selected for their balance of empathy and reason, intuition and insight, integrity and rigor.

John Cornwell (Founder, Principal) has 20 years of strategy consulting and executive roles.

His clients include major cancer centers, public universities, community colleges, social services agencies, and policy development organizations.

John is a two-time entrepreneur, former actor, executive director of a nonprofit, and board member or volunteer for several other nonprofits.
